Infonetica Ltd Participate in NHS Working Group
Dated: 15/02/2005 12:00:00

Infonetica participated in the National R&D Costing Initiative Working Group which was established as a joint initiative between the NHS R&D Forum ‘Working with Industry’ Working Group, South West R&D Managers, the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry, the Institute of Clinical
Research and the pharmaceutical industry.

The aim of the Working Group was to produce practical guidance to facilitate the conduct of commercially sponsored clinical research (commercial research) in secondary care NHS organisations.

Specifically the working group focused on:

  • Perspectives from industry and the NHS on conducting commercial research
  • Methodologies used by industry and NHS to cost commercial research
  • Guidelines and legislation for the financial governance of income generated from commercial research
  • Guidelines and legislation relating to contracts required for the conduct of commercial research

The full report can be found at http://www.rdforum.nhs.uk/docs/commercial_research_guidance_2005.pdf . In response Infonetica Ltd accounced a joint venture to develop a web-based application designed to speed the commercial agreement process between industry and the NHS. The product, to be known as the Trials and Research Costing Application (TARCA) will be available by the end of 2006.
